Orange County Buddhist Church (OCBC) is one of the Shin Buddhist temples under the Buddhist Churches of America (BCA), which serves as the North American propagation district for the Jodo Shinshu Honpa Hongwanji-ha (Nishi Hongwanji) located in Kyoto, Japan. The founder is Shinran (1173-1263), who lived during the early Kamakura period, a socio-economically challenging time in Japanese history.
